Are you aware that the Gymnasium at the "Commons Building" at the Troy High School is open each weekday morning? (that school is in session" for walkers) Walk at your own pace in a safe enviroment from 6-7:15am. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Spring Raffle

The Ridgebury Sportsman's Club is planning it's annual Spring Raffle for Saturday March 21st beginning at 7pm at the Sportsman's Club. This event is open to the public.

Chicken and Bisquit Dinner

On Saturday, March 21, 2015 there will be a Chicken and Bisquit Dinner  4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. at Mainesburg United Methodist Church.
10% of the dinner profits will go to the Jill Cross Mission Fund.
 
Hawaiian Luau
You are invited to a Hawaiian Luau "Girl's night out" at the CopperTree March 26th, 2015 6:00pm- 8:00pm There will be a Paint class, fun pictures, scrapbooking, relaxation skills, and food! It is all free and fun!
 
Meat Show
 
The South Creek Fire Department will hold it's annual Meat Show on Saturday March 28th from 5 thru 10pm at the Fire Hall in Fassett. Plenty of door prizes and a live pig raffle. Donation $2.00 in advance $5.00 at the door. Food and refreshments availablle. FMI call 570-529-0826 
 
Rock & Mineral Club Show 
The Che-Hanna Rock & Mineral Club will be hosting their 46th annual show on March 28th (9-5) and 29th (10-4).  The event will be held at the Athens Twp. Vol. Fire Hall, 211 Herrick Ave., Sayre, PA.  Exhibits from the Carnegie Museum and Museum of the Earth.  Silent auctions, club member lapidary demos. Common Time Choral Group
Will celebrate their 30th anniversary concert, the theme is "Return to the 50's" There is a free concert March 28th, the Pre-show music featuring the Common Time Band will begin at 7:00. The Common time takes the stage at 7:30pm.  This is all at the Clemens Center's Powers Theater. For more information call 734-6821

Spaghetti Dinner
"The Wells-Jackson Lions Club" is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner on Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5-7pm at the Millerton Wesleyan church, 5174 Main Street, Millerton, PA. This dinner is open to the public. The cost of $8.00 and $7.50 for children and seniors includes beverage and dessert. Take-outs are available.
 
Roast Beef and Turkey Dinner
The South Creek Lions Club will be holding a "Roast Beef & Turkey Dinner" on Saturday April 11th at the Lions Hall on Route 14 in Gillett. The Dinners menux include "Real" Mashed Potatoes, Vegetables, Baked Beans and "Home Baked Bread" Cost is $9.00 per person. Doors open at 4:30pm Dessert plus coffee, tea and lemonade will be available.
 
Monthly Breakfast
 
Monthly Breakfast will be held Sunday April 12th  South Creek Lions on Route 14 in Gillett will present a breakfast for the public. The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast and sausage gravy along with coffee, orange juice. Cost is $8.00 per meal doors open 7am-10:30am.
 
Dinner
 
The South Creek Lions Club will be having a Roast Beef and Turkey Dinner on Saturday April 11th, doors will open at 4:30pm. The menu will include potatoes, vegetables, bread and gravy. Desserts coffee and lemonade available. Cost $9.00pp. The South Creek Lions Club is located on Route 14 in Gillett.
 
Penny Social
There will be a penny Social Friday April 17th 2015 at the Leraysville Community Hall. Doors open at 5pm, drawing at 7pm. There will be door prizes and refreshments. This is to benefit Order of Eastern Star #76 in Towanda.
 
Free Courses Allow Motorcyclists to Start Riding Season Safely
Although winter weather still has an icy grip on the commonwealth, through the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP), PennDOT has begun offering all riders – from novice to experienced – a chance to take advantage of valuable safety training before hitting the road for the riding season.  Registration is now open for all PAMSP courses, which are free to Pennsylvania residents who have a motorcycle learner’s permit or motorcycle license. Spring Fling 

The Bradford County Manor's Annual "Spring Fling" will be held on June 13th from 10am-3pm. There will be plenty of food, crafts, music  and fun. The public is invited. Vendors are needed please call for more information 570-297-4111 ext 3038.

Rodeo
The Monroeton Fire Company will again be hosting a Rodeo again in 2015. Your invited to attend on September 13th. More information will soon be released.
 
Beacon Lodge
 
PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp has announced its 2015 camping season. This season marks 67  consecutive years of camping. The camping season opens June 6, and closes August 11. Camp sessions  are six or ten days based on eligibility criteria. Beacon Lodge is located in the beautiful mountains of central Pennsylvania, along the Juniata River.

Are you aware that anyone in Pennsylvania who land applies manure, via pasture or mechanically, is required to have a manure management plan? This would include something as simple as one horse. Although required, these plans can be very quickly and easily put together. They can even save you money. They are also YOUR plans. They will be kept in your files and will help protect you if for any reason DEP were to stop at your place. The Bradford County Conservation District is here to help you with those plans.  Park Station

The Chemung County Buildings and Grounds Department announces that camping reservations for Park Station will be taken starting Wednesday, April 1st from 7:00am - 3:30pm (closed between 12-12:30).  Reservations will be taken by TELEPHONE ONLY on April 1st and April 2nd with a limit of 2 reservations per person on these days, after which walk-ins are welcomed. 

****Payment is to be made within 10 days of making the reservation.  A reservation made less than 10 days from reservation date must pay at the time of the reservation.  A full refund less a $20.00 handling fee will be given with a minimum 14 calendar day cancellation notice.  A cancellation less than 14 days will result in a camping credit less $20.00 handling fee, to be used during the current camping season. 

All persons wanting to make reservations need to call the CHEMUNG COUNTY BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS DEPARTMENT at 607-737-2843 only.  Due to the high volume of calls please be aware that it may take quite some time to get through.
