Turkey Supper
 
The Rome United  Methodist Church will be having a Turkey Supper Saturday Oct 18. Serving start at 4 PM. Adults $9, Children $4, preschool  free. Dinner will be held at the Rome Church Hall,Rome,Pa.
 
Basket Bingo
 
The Hillsgrove Vol. Fire Co., Hillsgrove, PA is having it's annual Fall Basket/Cash Bingo on Sat., Oct. 18th at the fire hall. Saint Johns Church in Troy is hosting a "Harvest Supper" on Wednesday October 15th from 4:30-7pm. The meal includes Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy,corn homemade pies & cakes. 2014 Canton Civic Club Annual Halloween Parade,  Saturday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m.
 
The theme for the 2014 Canton Civic Club Annual Halloween Parade is “the History of Canton” (relating to the 150th Anniversary of Canton Borough, 60th Anniversary of the War Memorial Pool and 75th Anniversary of Gone with the Wind which featured Harry Davenport).   The parade will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.  Floats will be judged at 4:30 p.m. behind the High School. Costumes and novelties will be judged at 4:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ parking lot at the corner of East Union Street and North Minnequa Avenue. To be included in the judging all entrants must be prompt as the judging will start promptly at 4:30 p.m.  For safety, no pets or animals are permitted.   .  Please call Amy at 570-673-5700 (day) or 570-673-8605 (evening) for information.
 
Penny Social
 
The Leraysville Order of the Eastern Star will be holding a Penny Social on Friday October 24th at the Leraysville Community Hall. Doors will open at 6pm There will be door prizes and a bake sale, Food baskets and a 50/50 drawing. Refreshments and complimentary cookies and drink following the social. The public is invited.
 
Ham Supper
 
The Roseville united methodist women are sponsoring a Ham Supper on Saturday October 25th at the Church on Route 549. Serving from 3-6:30pm everything is homemade. Proceeds will benefit the United Methodist women's mission projects.
 
Halloween Parade
 
The 87th Annual Towanda Halloween Parade will be held Saturday October 25th. This years Parade is themed "The Great Pumpkin" will line up at 6pm and begin at 7pm.  Monetary prizes are awarded for first second and third place float categories. Halloween Parade
 
The Troy Halloween parade is Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 6:00 PM. Line is at WR Croman by 5:30. Costume judging will be promptly at 5:15. Parade will go down Canton Street to Elmira Street and end at the parking lot in front of the High School on Taylor Street.  Reason for change to the 30th (usually always on the 31st) is the Troy/Canton football game is the 31st in Troy. Also the Burlington/West Burlington parade is the also the 30th, but at 7:30 in Burlington. Both organizers have worked it out and both can be held the same night..
 
Halloween Parade
 
The Annual Thursday before Halloween Parade in Burlington will be held on Thursday October 30th. Line up past the Dandy to the Bridge begins at 7pm, Parade at 7:30.
 
 
Praise & Pie
 
The Sylvania Presbyterian Church is holding a Praise & Pie worship & praise service on Sunday October 26th at the Church beginning at 6:30pm. All are welcome.

Area Veterans are invited to Veterans Appreciation Days at Larry's Sports Center in Galeton PA on Friday and Saturday November 8th and 9th. Free Lunch available. Representatives from DAV will be on hand to assist any veteran with questions. Larry's will present each veteran with an appreciation gift.
 
New York Penn Firemen.
 
The next meeting of the New York Penn Firemen's Association will be Thursday November 20th at the Coopers Plains Fire Department located off Route 17 in Coopers Plains New York. The Meeting will begin at 8pm. All interested Fire Departments in New York and Pennsylvania are invited to attend.
 
Holiday Craft & Vendor Show
 
The Towanda Fire Department Annual Holiday Craft & Vendor Show will be held on December 6th from 10am-4pm at the Fire Department on Elm Street. Free Admission over 40 crafters and vendors will be on hand. Treats for the kids, food will be available and there will be a Chinese Auction to benefit the Fire Department. The public is invited.
 
 
Monthly Breakfast
 
Beginning Sunday January 11th and continuing the second Sunday of February, March & April  South Creek Lions on Route 14 in Gillett will present a breakfast for the public. The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, toast and sausage gravy along with coffee, orange juice. Cost is $8.00 per meal doors open 7am-10:30am.
 
Addiction Recovery
 
The Open Arms Community Church of Bradford is launching an addiction recovery program, starting around the new year. The church is in the process of gathering and training volunteers for the Celebrate Recovery program, that will in turn allow people to be honest, open, encouraged and supported.
